Giggleswick is one of the UK’s oldest and most distinguished co-educational boarding schools, ranked by The Sunday Times as a Top 20 independent school in the north of England. It is set in the stunning location of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, just over an hour away from Leeds/Bradford and Manchester airports. The school is renowned for its happy, friendly and supportive community and genuine focus on personal development, academic ambition and participation in a wide range of activities. With a genuine boarding heritage, over 60% of pupils are boarders and all pupils are in school six days a week, with a full school day on Saturday and a structured programme of activities and trips for boarders on Sundays. Giggleswick welcomes international students from over 14 different countries, who currently make up 18% of all senior school pupils. Over 80% of pupils are British. Academic results are strong with 46% achieving A*A GCSE equivalent (Grade 7-9) and 37% achieving A*A at A Level. 94% of pupils secured their first choice university and over 50% choosing Russell Group universities. But success is not just about grades at Giggleswick, personal development from a well-rounded education is equally important. Co-curricular activities include over 70 clubs and activities available every week, from sport and outdoor pursuits to music, art and design, drama, debating and even astronomy. Giggleswick also runs an extremely popular international summer school every year.
